06/11/1962 The United Nations formally condemns Apartheid

The General Assembly of the UN passed Resolution 1761 condemning apartheid policies. The resolution described apartheid as a threat to international peace and security. Additionally, member states of the UN were asked to break off diplomatic relations with South Africa.
