06/11/1943 The Soviet troops liberate capital of Ukraine from fascist invaders

The captain of tanks D. A. Chumachenko got to Kiev, which was back then the 3rd largest city in the USSR, on the highway Brest-Litovsk. Later, the red flag was raised in the capital. After the WWII, Kiev recovered economically and once again became one of the most important cities in the USSR.
