The captain of tanks D. A. Chumachenko got to Kiev, which was back then the 3rd largest city in the USSR, on the highway Brest-Litovsk. Later, the red flag was raised in the capital. After the WWII, Kiev recovered economically and once again became one of the most important cities in the USSR.
