19/10/1937 Discoverer of the atom nucleus dies

New Zealand physicist Ernest Rutherford discovered the nucleus of the atom and changed one element to another in the lab. He also spotted the difference between alpha, beta and gamma radiation and proved that alpha radiation is helium nuclei. Rutherford discovered the proton and the concept of half-life as well.
