04/01/1967 Donald Campbell is killed in water speed record attempt

Known as the most prolific Water Speed Record breaker of all time, Donald Campbell broke eight world speed records on water and on land in the 1950s and 1960s. He died during a speed record attempt occurred at more than 300 mph and within 200 yards of the end of the measured kilometer.
