17/11/1933 United States recognizes Soviet Union

President Franklin Roosevelt established diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union. The Soviets promised they would not engage in spying in the USA, however, did so anyhow. William Bullitt was named as the U.S. ambassador to the Soviet Union.
