Erwin R. J. A. Schrödinger is best known for his work in quantum theory. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1933 for his Schrödinger equation. It is a wave-equation that serves as a mathematical model of the movement of waves. He died of tuberculosis at the aged 73 in Vienna.
