The Chad Portuguese Empire

The Portuguese Empire, also known as the Portuguese Overseas or the Portuguese Colonial Empire, was one of the largest and longest-lived empires in world history. It existed for almost six centuries from the capture of Ceuta in 1415 to the handover of Portuguese Macau to China in 1999. The Empire, began in the 15th century, and from the early 16th century, stretched from the Americas, in Brazil and claims in northwestern North America, to settlements in North Africa, and for the first time among Europeans, in Sub-Saharan Africa, on its east and west coasts, establishments in all Asian Subcontinents, and to the Pacific limit of Oceania, along the Moluccas, since 1512. By the monopoly exerted by its armadas on the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans route and related networks in the 16th century, and by the precocity and geography of its bases and territories, it is also described as the first global empire in history.
