31/10/1828 True light bulb inventor is born

British physicist Joseph Swan was born. He is not very famous, although he should be. He invented incandescent light bulb. His invention is, however, usually attributed to Thomas Edison. Swan’s lamp was less practical than Edison’s. On the other hand, Swan used cellulose as a lamp core which was superior to Edison’s bamboo.
