Robert H. Goddard was an American rocket scientist. He built the first liquid-fueled rocket. He also invented a multi-stage rocket. His ideas made space travel (and also rocket weapons) possible. With his team, he launched 34 rockets, reached speeds over 800 km/h and altitudes as high as 2.6 km. He wrote a famous book A Method of Reaching Extreme Altitudes.
