Plutonium Production at Hanford

The Hanford Atomic Facility produced its first plutonium. It was used in the first nuclear test ever, operation Trinity, and in the Fat Man bomb dropped on Nagasaki. (Hiroshima bomb was filled with uranium-235, not plutonium.) Plutonium production in Hanford continued during the Cold War. The factory made plutonium filling for 60.000 nuclear weapons.
