Milka Planinc was a Yugoslav politician from Croatia. She served as a Prime Minister of Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1982 to 1986, the first and only woman to hold this office. Planinc was also in turn the first female head of government in a diplomatically recognized communist country, with the first in a partially recognized communist country being Khertek Anchimaa-Toka of the Tuvan People's Republic, also the first female nonhereditary head of state.
