Naveed Mukhtar is a three-star rank Pakistan Army Lieutenant-General and the current Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence, the premier intelligence agency of Pakistan. He assumed office on 11th December 2016 and prior to that he commanded V Corps of Karachi. He is credited for having played a pivotal role in the success of the Karachi Operation. Mukhtar belongs to Arain Family of Nankana Sahib region of the Punjab Province.
