North Hills Mall was built in 1979 at 7624 Grapevine Hwy in North Richland Hills, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth, with its grand opening on 12 September 1979.. It flourished and co-existed with nearby North East Mall until the latter expanded in 1999. The reconstruction process of the Interstate 820/Airport Freeway junction limited access to it, also contributing to its demise. Dallas based dept store chain Sanger-Harris was one of the anchor stores, it would later become Foley's in 1987 and then close in 2001.
