Pinu is a village located on the coast line of western Central Province, Papua New Guinea. The village is accessible by road and would take about 90 kilometers by motor vehicle on Hiritano Highway. The village is the biggest settlement in the Kabadi area. The villagers passionately call themselves "Abadi Pinu". The word "abadi" refers to power, ownership and prestige by the paramount chief, while "Kabadi" refers to communal ownership or origin. The word abadi literally means I own and it is synonymous with paramount chief.
