13/10/1987 Dolphins for Uncle Sam

First military use of dolphins by US Navy. Contrary to the common belief, navy does not use dolphins for suicide missions to destroy enemy ships (they can’t recognize friendly vessels from the enemy). Dolphins can look for mines and mark their location to people. They can also look for unauthorized swimmers or recovery equipment lost in water.
