21/01/1976 The first commercial Supersonic Concorde flight

The British-French turbojet-powered supersonic passenger jet airliner was introduced. It flew for the first time in 1969, had a maximum speed over twice the speed of sound at Mach 2.04 with seating for 92 to 128 passengers and was operated until 2003.
