The 2019 Tour de France will be the 106th edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's three grand tours. The start of the 2019 Tour will be in Brussels in honour of the 50th anniversary of the first Tour de France win of Eddy Merckx. It will be the second time the Grand Depart will take place in Brussels and will be the fifth Belgian Grand Depart. The Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) presented the Grand Depart in a special conference in January 2018.. The opening stage will visit Charleroi and loop back to Brussels, to connect the regions of Flanders and Wallonia in a stage.
