Shannon Lucid: six months aboard Mir-22

She flew five times into space. Her longest mission was aboard Russian space station Mir. It was a part of the Shuttle-Mir program. Shannon Lucid stayed for 179 days and 188 days in space overall. It was a record for an American and for a woman. Prior to her astronaut job she worked as a biochemist on the University of Oklahoma.
