10 Miles Above The Earth (1931)
He is known known for his record-breaking helium filled balloon flights. He used the balloon to study Earth's upper atmosphere and cosmic rays. Picard also invented the bathyscaphe. He designed the Bathyscaphe Trieste, which with its crew of two reached a record maximum depth of 10,911 metres at the bottom of the Challenger Deep, in the Mariana Trench.
