Michael Gazzaniga was an American psychologist. In the sixties, he worked with Roger Sperry on the research of the split-brain, the brain in which right and left hemisphere are isolated from each other. Later Gazzaniga co-founded the field of cognitive neuroscience. It is the research of biological processes behind cognition.
