Clive Staples Lewis was a British novelist, poet, literary critic, essayist, lay theologian, lecturer, and Christian apologist. In early June, Lewis began suffering from nephritis, which resulted in blood poisoning. Exactly one week before his 65th birthday, Lewis collapsed in his bedroom at 5:30 pm and died a few minutes later.
