He invented the jeans. His original intention was to design sturdy trousers worn by factory workers, farmers, and cattlemen throughout the North American West. His company, Levi Strauss & Co, still exists today. Levi's has been worn by people from all walks of life, from miners to Nobel Prize recipients.
