Charles John Huffam Dicken was an English writer and social critic. He created some of the world's best-known fictional characters and is regarded by many as the greatest novelist of the Victorian era. In June 1870, Dickens suffered the second stroke at his home after a full day's work on Edwin Drood and he never regained consciousness.
