American innovator Alexander Graham Bell made the first call by his new invention, the telephone. He called his assistant Thomas A. Watson. He said: “Mr. Watson — Come here — I want to see you. — I want to see you.” Bell himself, however, considered his invention intrusive and refused to have the telephone in his study.
