He was a pioneer of internal-combustion engines and automobile development. He invented the high-speed liquid petroleum fuelled engine. Daimler worked with his business partner Wilhelm Maybach. In 1882 they designed motorcycle in history. It was called The Daimler Petroleum Reitwagen ("riding car").
