Computer scientists Paul Gage and David Slowinski found a new perfect number using the Cray supercomputer. A perfect number is a positive integer that is equal to the sum of its positive divisors excluding the number itself. For example, 6 is a perfect number, because it is equal to 1 + 2 + 3. The current highest perfect number was discovered in 2017.
