03/03/1917 Mexico and the USA renew diplomatic relations

Since the late nineteenth century during the regime of President Porfirio Díaz, the two countries have had close diplomatic and economic ties. The U.S. played an important role in the course of the Mexican Revolution with direct actions of the U.S. government in supporting or repudiating support of revolutionary factions.
