EN-Klaus von Klitzing speaks about the role of Science for Humanity

He is known for his discovery of the integer quantum Hall effect. It is is a quantum-mechanical version of the Hall Effect, a production of a voltage difference across an electrical conductor. It was discovered by American physicist Edwin Hall in 1879. Klitzing’s experiments enabled physicists to study the conducting properties of electronic components with extraordinary precision.
