He pioneered the construction of the suspension bridges. His most famous creation is the Brooklyn Bridge. He died during its construction. Roebling was standing on at the edge of the rock, working on fixing the bridge location. His foot was crushed by an arriving ferry. The wound got infected by tetanus.
