03/09/1935 British motorist Malcolm Campbell sets his final land speed record

In a specially constructed vehicle named Bluebird, powered by aircraft engine, Campbell achieved speed of 484.955 kilometres per hour. This equals 301.337 miles per hour in old imperial units. Thus, Campbell became first man to break 300 miles per hour limit. Campbell later shifted from land to water speed records.
