Patients name was Janet Parker. She was a medical photographer at the university of Birmingham. Her dark room was above the laboratory where research on smallpox viruses was being conducted. Although vaccinated twelve years ago, Parker got infected by Variola major virus, the most serious type of smallpox, and died.
