Battle of Toulon was a naval battle in which the combined forces of France and the Kingdom of Spain stood against Great Britain. The French fleet joined the fight when the greatly outnumbered Spanish fleet gained the advantage. The British were forced to withdraw after they sustained considerably more damage than they inflicted.
