Mickey Owen was born in Nixa, Missouri, the USA as Arnold Malcolm Owen. The brawling Dodgers catcher who became a Brooklyn byword for "goat" with his infamous dropped third strike in the 1941 World Series. Owen played for 13 seasons in the major leagues and was an outstanding catcher with a strong, accurate arm.
