Australian critic, broadcaster and poet who lived and worked in the United Kingdom from 1961, Clive James, died aged 80 at his home in Cambridge. He has been struggling with leukemia since 2010. James began his career specialising in literary criticism before becoming television critic for the The Observer in 1972.
