MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an Indian international cricketer who captained the Indian national team in limited-overs formats from 2007 to 2016 and in Test cricket from 2008 to 2014. An attacking right-handed middle-order batsman and wicket-keeper, he is widely regarded as the greatest finisher in cricket history. He is also regarded as one of the best wicket-keepers in world cricket and is known to have very fast hands. Prakash Padukone

Prakash Padukone is a former Indian badminton player. He was ranked World No. 1 in 1980, the same year he became the first Indian to win the All England Open Badminton Championships. He was awarded the Arjuna award in 1972 and the Padma Shri in 1982 by the Government of India. He is one of the co-founders of Olympic Gold Quest, a foundation dedicated to the promotion of Olympic sports in India.

Saina Nehwal

Saina Nehwal is an Indian professional badminton singles player. A former world no. 1, she has won over 23 international titles, which include ten Superseries titles. Although she reached the world's 2nd in the 2009, it was only in 2015 that she was able to attain the world no. 1 ranking, thereby becoming the only female player from India and overall the second Indian player – after Prakash Padukone – to achieve this feat. She has represented India three times in the Olympics, winning a bronze medal in her second appearance.

P. V. Sindhu

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is an Indian professional badminton player. She became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal, and one of the two Indian badminton players to ever win an Olympic medal – other being Saina Nehwal. Sindhu won silver in Women's singles at Commonwealth Games 2018. She was also a silver medalist at the 2017 BWF World Championships and 2018 BWF World Championships consecutively.

2018 BWF World Tour

The 2018 BWF World Tour, known officially as 2018 HSBC BWF World Tour, is the first season of the BWF World Tour of badminton, a circuit of 26 tournaments towards the finals. It replaces the BWF Super Series and BWF Grand Prix, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The 27 tournaments are divided into five levels: Level 1 the HSBC World Tour Finals, Level 2 called Super 1000, Level 3 called Super 750, Level 4 called Super 500 and Level 5 called Super 300. Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool is offered at the Super 1000 level.

Syed Modi

Syed Modi (1962–1988), born as Syed Mehdi, was an Indian badminton singles player. He was eight-time National Badminton champion (1980–87). His most notable achievement at the international badminton circuit came in the form of men's singles title at the 1982 Commonwealth Games. He also won three other international titles, namely Austrian International and USSR International, both of which were European Badminton Circuit tournaments.

BWF World Ranking

The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the World Championships and Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seeding of the draw at all BWF sanctioned tournaments is done using BWF World Ranking. Players under 19 years of age are eligible to rank in the BWF World Junior Ranking, which were introduced in January 2011.The list followed are the rankings.

Jwala Gutta

Jwala Gutta is a left-handed Indian badminton player. Born in Wardha to an Indian father and a Chinese mother, she began playing badminton at a young age. She is most successful doubles specialist from India, and has represented the country at the international circuit since the late 1990s till 2017. A fourteen-time National Champion, Gutta played with Shruti Kurien earlier in her career, but found greater international success with Ashwini Ponnappa. The pair consistently figured among the top-twenty in the BWF World Ranking reaching as high as no. 10 in 2015. Gutta is the first badminton player of Indian to qualify for two events in the Olympics–women's doubles with Ponnappa and mixed doubles with V. Diju at London. Gutta is known for her skilled left-handed stroke-play and is one of the very few doubles players to use a forehand service.

Lee Chong Wei

Datuk Lee Chong Wei is a Malaysian professional badminton player. As a singles player, Lee was ranked first worldwide for 199 consecutive weeks from 21 August 2008 to 14 June 2012. He is the fourth Malaysian player after Rashid Sidek, Roslin Hashim and Wong Choong Hann to achieve such a ranking, and is the only Malaysian shuttler to hold the number one ranking for more than a year.
