Pusarla Venkata Sindhu

Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is an Indian professional badminton player. By winning the gold medal at the 2019 World Championships, Sindhu became the first Indian ever to become a world champion in badminton. Having made her international debut in 2009, she rose to a career high ranking of no. 2 in April 2017. Over the course of her career, Sindhu has won medals at numerous tournaments on the BWF circuit, including a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics which made her the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal as well as the first Indian to reach the Olympic final in badminton.

MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, commonly known as MS Dhoni, is an Indian international cricketer who captained the Indian national team in limited-overs formats from 2007 to 2016 and in Test cricket from 2008 to 2014. Under his captaincy, India won the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. A right-handed middle-order batsman and wicket-keeper, Dhoni is one of the highest run scorers in One Day Internationals (ODIs) with more than 10,000 runs scored and is considered an effective "finisher" in limited-overs formats. He is also regarded by some as one of the best wicket-keepers in modern limited-overs international cricket.

Saina Nehwal

Saina Nehwal is an Indian professional badminton singles player. A former world no. 1, she has won over 24 international titles, which includes eleven Superseries titles. Although she reached the world's 2nd in the 2009, it was only in 2015 that she was able to attain the world no. 1 ranking, thereby becoming the only female player from India and overall the second Indian player – after Prakash Padukone – to achieve this feat. She has represented India three times in the Olympics, winning a bronze medal in her second appearance.

Sudheer Babu

Sudheer Babu is an Indian film actor and former professional Badminton player. He primarily works in the Telugu film industry. Sudheer made his debut as a hero in the Telugu film industry with the film Shiva Manasulo Shruti. He is well known for his roles in Prema Katha Chitram and in Baaghi, where he played the antagonist in the latter. He launched his new home banner "Sudheer Babu Productions" recently.

Jwala Gutta

Jwala Gutta is a left-handed Indian badminton player. Born in Wardha to an Indian father and a Chinese mother, she began playing badminton at a young age. She is most successful doubles specialist from India, and has represented the country at the international circuit since the late 1990s till 2017. A fourteen-time National Champion, Gutta played with Shruti Kurien earlier in her career, but found greater international success with Ashwini Ponnappa. The pair consistently figured among the top-twenty in the BWF World Ranking reaching as high as no. 10 in 2015. Gutta is the first badminton player of Indian to qualify for two events in the Olympics–women's doubles with Ponnappa and mixed doubles with V. Diju at London. Gutta is known for her skilled left-handed stroke-play and is one of the very few doubles players to use a forehand service.

Lee Chong Wei

Datuk Lee Chong Wei is a retired Malaysian professional badminton player. As a singles player, Lee was ranked first worldwide for 199 consecutive weeks from 21 August 2008 to 14 June 2012. He is the fourth Malaysian player after Rashid Sidek, Roslin Hashim and Wong Choong Hann to achieve such a ranking, and is the only Malaysian shuttler to hold the number one ranking for more than a year.

Prakash Padukone

Prakash Padukone is a former Indian badminton player. He was ranked World No. 1 in 1980, the same year he became the first Indian to win the All England Open Badminton Championships. He was awarded the Arjuna award in 1972 and the Padma Shri in 1982 by the Government of India. He is one of the co-founders of Olympic Gold Quest, a foundation dedicated to the promotion of Olympic sports in India.

Pullela Gopichand

Pullela Gopichand is a former Indian badminton player. Presently, he is the Chief National Coach for the Indian Badminton team. He won the All England Open Badminton Championships in 2001 becoming the second Indian to achieve this feat after Prakash Padukone. He runs the Gopichand Badminton Academy. He received the Arjuna Award in 1999, the Dronacharya Award in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan – India's third highest civilian award – in 2014.

Syed Modi

Syed Modi (1962–1988), born as Syed Mehdi, was an Indian badminton singles player. He was eight-time National Badminton champion (1980–87). His most notable achievement at the international badminton circuit came in the form of men's singles title at the 1982 Commonwealth Games. He also won three other international titles, namely Austrian International and USSR International, both of which were European Badminton Circuit tournaments.

Badminton World Championships

The BWF World Championships is a badminton tournament sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). The tournament offers the most ranking points, together with Summer Olympic Games. The winners will be crowned as the "World Champions" and awarded gold medals. However, it does not offer any prize money.

Premier Badminton League

Premier Badminton League is a franchise league; Sportz & Live Private Limited (Sportzlive) has the rights to operate and execute the Premier Badminton League. It was named Indian Badminton League (IBL) when founded in 2013 then later rechristened to Premier Badminton League before the start of 2nd season in 2016. The inaugural edition of the Indian Badminton League was held in India from 14 August 2013 to 31 August 2013.Hyderabad Hotshots won the inaugural IBL title at Mumbai on 31 August 2013. The second season of the league 2016 Premier Badminton League was held from 2 to 17 January 2016. Delhi Dashers defeated Mumbai Rockets in the final to clinch the title. The third season began on 1 January 2017.
