The Mumbai Indians are a franchise cricket team based in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra.

It was the second team representing Pune after Pune Warriors India. The team along with Gujarat Lions featured as two-season replacements for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, who were suspended due to their involvement in illegal betting by their respective owners.
The SunRisers Hyderabad are a franchise cricket team based in Hyderabad, Telangana, that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise is owned by Kalanithi Maran of the Sun TV Network and was founded in 2012 after the Hyderabad-based Deccan Chargers were terminated by the IPL. The team is currently captained by Kane Williamson and coached by Tom Moody. The primary homeground of the team is the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium with a capacity of 55,000.

The Rajasthan Royals are a cricket team in the Indian Premier League from the city of Jaipur. Founded in 2008 as one of the initial eight IPL franchises, the Royals are owned by Manoj Badale. In June 2016, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided that Indian players could only play in one under-19 World Cup tournament, regardless if they still meet the age criteria for another edition.

The team first played international cricket in 1926–27, and were later awarded Test status in 1982, which made Sri Lanka the eighth Test cricket playing nation. The team is administered by Sri Lanka Cricket. The current captain of the Sri Lankan cricket team in Test matches is Dinesh Chandimal. Angelo Mathews is the captain of the team in limited over versions.
