His reign as Olympic Games champion in all of these events spans three Olympics. Owing to his achievements and dominance in sprint competition, he is widely considered to be the greatest sprinter of all time.

Justin Gatlin

Justin Gatlin is an American sprinter who specializes in the 100 and 200 metres events. He is the reigning 100 m World Champion, after beating rival Usain Bolt at the 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships. He is the 2004 Olympic champion in the 100 metres, the 2005 and 2017 World champion in the same event, and the 2005 World champion in the 200 metres. Gatlin was banned from competing between 2006 and 2010 by the USADA for failing a second drugs test, testing positive for testosterone.

Michael Duane Johnson is a retired American sprinter. He won four Olympic gold medals and eight World Championships gold medals. He formerly held the world and Olympic records in the 200 m and 400 m as well as the world record in the indoor 400 m. He also once held the world's best time at 300 m. Johnson is generally considered one of the greatest and most consistent sprinters in the history of track and field.

Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix is an American track and field sprinter who competes in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 400 meters. At 200 meters, she is the 2012 Olympic champion, a 3-time World champion (2005–09), and 2-time Olympic silver medalist (2004–08). At 400 meters, she is the 2015 World champion, 2011 World silver medalist, 2016 Olympic silver medalist, and 2017 World bronze medalist.

Wilma Rudolph

Wilma Glodean Rudolph was an American sprinter from Clarksville, Tennessee, who became a world-record-holding Olympic champion and international sports icon in track and field following her successes in the 1956 and 1960 Olympic Games. Rudolph competed in the 200-meter dash and won a bronze medal in the 4 × 100-meter relay at the 1956 Summer Olympics at Melbourne, Australia. She also won three gold medals in the 100- and 200-meter individual events and the 4 x 100-meter relay at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy. Rudolph was acclaimed the fastest woman in the world in the 1960s and became the first American woman, to win three gold medals in a single Olympic Games. Due to the worldwide television coverage of the 1960 Summer Olympics, Rudolph became an international star along with other Olympic athletes such as Cassius Clay, Oscar Robertson, and Rafer Johnson who competed in Italy.

Tyson Gay is an American track and field sprinter who competes in the 100 and 200 meters dash. His 100 m personal best of 9.69 seconds is the American record and makes him tied for the second fastest athlete ever. His 200 m time of 19.58 makes him the sixth fastest athlete in that event. He has since received a one-year ban for doping.

Yohan Blake, is a Jamaican sprinter of the 100-metre and 200-metre sprint races. He won gold at the 100 m at the 2011 World Championships as the youngest 100 m world champion ever, and a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London in the 100 m and 200 m races for the Jamaican team.

Linford Christie

Linford Cicero Christie is a Jamaican-born British former sprinter. He is the only British man to have won gold medals in the 100 metres at all four major competitions open to British athletes: the Olympic Games, the World Championships, the European Championships and the Commonwealth Games. He was the first European to break the 10-second barrier in the 100 m and still holds the British record in the event. He is a former world indoor record holder over 200 metres, and a former European record holder in the 60 metres, 100 m and 4 × 100 metres relay.

Noah Lyles is an American track and field sprinter. He holds personal bests of 9.88 seconds for the 100-meter dash and 19.65 seconds for the 200-meter dash. Lyles is the 300m indoor world record holder with a time of 31.87 from the 2017 US Indoor Champs.

Cathy Freeman

Catherine Astrid Salome "Cathy" Freeman, is an Australian former sprinter, who specialised in the 400 metres event. She would occasionally compete in other track events, but 400m was her main event. Her personal best of 48.63 currently ranks her as the sixth-fastest woman of all time, set while finishing second to Marie-José Pérec's number-three time at the 1996 Olympics. She became the Olympic champion for the women's 400 metres at the 2000 Summer Olympics, at which she lit the Olympic Flame.

Christian Coleman is a professional American track and field sprinter. He is the world indoor record holder for the 60 meter dash. He is also a prominent 100 meter, and 200 meter runner. He was a double silver medallist at the World Championships in Athletics in 2017. He competed collegiately for the Tennessee Volunteers. He attended high school at Our Lady Of Mercy Catholic High School in Fayetteville, Georgia.

Andre De Grasse

Andre De Grasse is a Canadian sprinter. He won the silver medal in the 200 m and bronze medals in both the 100 m and 4 × 100 m relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. De Grasse is the reigning Pan American champion in the 100 m and 200 m. He is also the NCAA men's champion in the 100 m and 200 m and current Canadian record holder in the 200m. De Grasse won the bronze in the 100 m and the 4 × 100 m relay at the 2015 World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

Harry Leslie Aikines-Aryeetey is an English sprinter. A prodigious junior runner, in 2005 he was named as the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and the IAAF's Rising Star of the Year after becoming the first athlete to win gold medals at both 100 metres and 200 metres at the World Youth Championships.

Asafa Powell

Asafa Powell, CD is a Jamaican sprinter who specialises in the 100 metres. He held the 100 metres world record between June 2005 and May 2008, with times of 9.77 and 9.74 seconds. Powell has consistently broken the 10-second barrier in competition, with his personal best of 9.72 s ranks fourth on the all-time list of male 100 metre athletes. As of 1 September 2016, Powell has broken the ten-second barrier more times than anyone else – 97 times. He currently holds the world record for the 100 yard dash, with a time of 9.09, set on 27 May 2010 in Ostrava, Czech Republic
