Liu Xiang is a retired Chinese 110 meter hurdler. Liu is an Olympic Gold medalist and World Champion. His 2004 Olympic gold medal was the first in a men's track and field event for China.
Sydney Michelle McLaughlin is an American hurdler and sprinter who is the world record holder in the 400 metres hurdles. She is the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist, and also the current world and Olympic records holder with 50.68s and 51.46s, respectively. McLaughlin was the first woman to break 52 seconds in the 400 m hurdles when she set a world record of 51.90 s at the 2020 USA Olympic trials. She won a silver medal at the 2019 World Championships. At both the 2019 World Championships and Tokyo Games, she also took gold as part of a women's 4×400 meters relay team. In 2022, she became world champion in the 2022 World Athletics Championships, in Eugene, Oregon, with a new world record time of 50.68 seconds.
Félix Sánchez, is a retired Dominican-American track and field athlete. He is of Dominican descent, was born and raised in the United States, and competed for the Dominican Republic, specializing in the 400 meter hurdles. He is a two-time Olympic gold medallist, winning gold in 2004 and 2012, and was also World Champion in 2001 and 2003. Just before turning 36, he set the Masters M35 World Record with a time of 48.10. Sanchez acquired many nicknames: "Super Felix", "the Invincible", "Superman", and "the Dictator".
Omar McLeod is a Jamaican hurdler. He is the current 110m hurdle Olympic and World champion. He was NCAA indoor champion in the 60 metres hurdles in 2014 and 2015 and outdoor champion in the 110 metres hurdles in 2015; he turned professional after the 2015 collegiate season, forgoing his two remaining years of collegiate eligibility. His personal best in the 110 metres hurdles ranks him 5th on the world all-time list.
Angelo F. Taylor is an American track and field athlete, winner of 400-meter hurdles at the 2000 and 2008 Summer Olympics. His personal record for the hurdles event is 47.25 seconds. His time puts him in a tie with Félix Sánchez for the #8 performer of all time. Sánchez also won two Olympic gold medals, in 2004 between Taylor's two golds and 2012, immediately following. Taylor also has a 400-meter dash best of 44.05 seconds, ranking him as the #15 performer of all time, superior to any other athlete who has made a serious effort in the 400 metres hurdles. He won the bronze medal in the 400 m at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics.
David Oliver, is a retired American hurdling athlete. As a professional athlete, he competed in the 110 meter hurdles event outdoor and the 60 meter hurdles event indoors. He is the former 110 meter hurdles champion winning the gold medal at the World Championships in Moscow in 2013 with a time of 13 seconds. He won the bronze medal in the 2008 Olympic Games and won another bronze at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships.
Sharika Renea Nelvis is an American hurdler. In 2014, she was NCAA indoor and outdoor sprint hurdles champion. After graduating from Arkansas State University that summer, Nelvis turned professional and topped the indoor world list in 2015. Nelvis represented the United States at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in 100 m hurdles and the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships in 60 m hurdles. Nelvis set the NACAC & American record in the women's 60 metres hurdles with a time of 7.70 at 2018 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
