Alice Coachman Davis was an American athlete. She specialized in high jump and was the first black woman to win an Olympic gold medal.


Brandon Starc

Brandon Starc is an Australian high jumper. As a 16 year old he won a silver medal at the inaugural 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore with a 9cm personal best of 2.19m. Brandon won his first National Senior Athletics Championships title in 2012 with 2.28m, and was a finalist at the 2012 World Junior Athletics Championships, the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the 2015 World Athletics Championships, and the 2016 Olympic Games. He won the Gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Starc currently trains in Sydney, Australia, under the tutelage of his coach Alex Stewart


Mutaz Essa Barshim

Mutaz Essa Barshim is a Qatari track and field athlete who competes in the high jump and is the current Olympic Champion (2020). He is also the current World Champion and second best jumper of all-time with a personal best of 2.43. He won gold at the 2017 World Championships in London and at the 2019 World Championships in Doha. At the Olympics, Barshim won bronze at the London 2012 Summer Olympics, silver at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio and gold at the 2020 Summer Olympics Tokyo. He was the Asian Indoor and World Junior champion in 2010, and won the high jump gold medals at the 2011 Asian Athletics Championships and 2011 Military World Games. He holds the Asian record in high jump.


Stefka Kostadinova

Stefka Georgieva Kostadinova is a Bulgarian retired athlete who competed in the high jump. Her world record of 2.09 metres has stood since 1987. She is the 1996 Olympic champion, a two-time World champion and a five-time World Indoor champion. She has been the president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee since 2005.


Dianne Gerace

Dianne Roberta Gerace is a retired track athlete from Canada. She competed at the 1964 Olympics in the high jump and pentathlon and finished in 5th and 15th place, respectively. She won a silver medal in the high jump and finished sixth in the long jump at the 1963 Pan American Games. She is of Italian and Scottish descent.


Eliza McCartney

Eliza McCartney is a New Zealand track and field athlete who competes in the pole vault and won the bronze medal in this event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She is the current New Zealand and Oceania record holder at 4.92 m, and is the outdoor world junior record holder at 4.64 m. She also won the silver medal at the Summer Universiade in 2015. In 2018, she placed second at the Commonwealth Games.

Derek Drouin is a Canadian track and field athlete who competes in the high jump. He is the reigning Olympic Champion, having won gold in 2016, and was the 2015 World Champion. He also won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 Pan American Games, and won a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2013 World Championships.

Erik Kynard Jr. is an American track and field athlete who competes in the high jump. In his Olympic debut at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London as a 21-year-old, he won a silver medal in the men's high jump. He is Dominik Dawson’s cousin who Is also a high jumper and track star.

Anna Vladimirovna Chicherova is a Russian high jumper. She was the gold medalist at the 2012 London Olympics and the 2011 World Championships in Athletics and originally won a bronze medal in the event at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She was also runner-up at the World Championships in 2007 and 2009, and bronze medalist in 2013 and 2015.

Ivan Sergeyevich Ukhov is a Russian high jumper. He won a gold medal at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships and is a two-time European Indoor champion. He was also the silver medallist at the 2010 European Athletics Championships and the winner of the high jump at the inaugural 2010 IAAF Diamond League. In the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he won the gold medal.


Roman Šebrle

Roman Šebrle is an athlete from the Czech Republic. He is considered to be one of the best decathlon athletes of all time. Originally a high jumper, he competes in decathlon and heptathlon for team Dukla Prague and is a former world record holder in the decathlon. In 2001 in Götzis he became the first decathlete ever to achieve over 9,000 points, setting the record at 9,026 points, succeeding his compatriot, Tomáš Dvořák, who had scored 8,994 points two years earlier.
