Seema Punia Antil aka Seema Punia or Seema Antil is an Indian discus thrower. Her personal best throw is 62.62 m (205.4 ft), achieved at the Pat Young's Throwers Classic 2016 at Salinas (California) in the US.
Praveen Kumar Sobti is an Indian hammer and discus thrower, film actor, and politician. As an athlete he won four medals at the Asian Games, including two gold medals, and competed in two Olympics. As an actor, he starred in more than 50 Hindi films and played the famous character of "Bheem" in BR Chopra's television series Mahabharat that started in 1988. As a politician he contested the 2013 Delhi Legislative elections on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket, but lost. Subsequently, in 2014, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Carol Jean L. Moseke Frost; born March 8, 1945 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska) is a female track and field athlete from the United States, competing in the discus throw. She represented her native country at the 1968 Summer Olympics, and won the gold medal in the women's discus throw event at the 1967 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Bertrand Vili is a French former track and field athlete who competed in the discus throw. He represented France at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics and was a silver medallist at the 2005 Jeux de la Francophonie. He was a double shot put/discus gold medallist at the 2001 South Pacific Mini Games and also won javelin throw silver. He won the gold medal in the discus at the 2007 Pacific Games in a games record of 58.31 m. He successfully defended that title four years later at the 2011 Pacific Games, held in his native New Caledonia. He has a personal best of 63.66 m and is the New Caledonian national record holder.
Daniel Ståhl is a Swedish athlete specialising in the discus throw. He competed at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing finishing fifth. In 2016, he competed at the European Championships, where he finished fifth. Daniel also competed at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro the same year, where he failed to qualify for the final. Just a couple of weeks following his failure in Rio, Daniel competed at the Swedish Championships in Sollentuna. Not only did he win the discus throw on a new personal best 68.72 metres, it was also the new world leading throw of 2016, surpassing Christoph Harting's 68.37 metres from the Rio Olympics final. By the end of the year, it remained the number one throw in 2016. The day before, Daniel had also won the shot put on a new personal best 19.38 metres. In June 2017, Ståhl managed a throw of 71.29 metres in Sollentuna, setting a new personal best and improving the Swedish record set in 1984 by Rickard Bruch by three centimetres. Ståhl's throw was the farthest discus throw in the world for four years.
Piotr Małachowski is a Polish discus thrower, two-time silver medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics. His personal best throw is 71.84 metres, ranks him fifth in all-time longest discus throw distances, achieved on 8 June 2013 at Hengelo, the Netherlands.
Carl Myerscough is a retired English athlete. He specialized in the Shot put and Discus throw and exceeded the British record in the Shot put with a best of 21.92m set in winning the NCAA championships in Sacramento California 2003, although the performance was not ratified by UK Athletics.
Raven Saunders is an American track and field athlete who competes in the shot put and discus throw. She won three NCAA collegiate titles in the shot put for the University of Mississippi. She was a world junior medalist in 2014 and the Pan American junior champion in 2015. She holds a personal record of 19.33 m (63 ft 5 in) for the shot put.
