Anita Włodarczyk

Anita Włodarczyk is a Polish hammer thrower. She is the 2012 and 2016 Olympic champion and the first woman in history to throw the hammer over 80 m; she currently holds the women's world record of 82.98 m. She is considered the greatest women’s hammer thrower of all time.


Koji Murofushi

Koji Alexander Murofushi is a former Japanese hammer thrower and sports scientist. He has been among the world elite since the 2001 World Championships, where he won the silver medal. He was the 2004 Olympic champion. In 2011, he was crowned world champion.


Paweł Fajdek

Paweł Fajdek is a Polish hammer thrower with personal best 83.93 metres. He is a three-time World Champion in the event.


Sergey Litvinov (athlete, born 1958)

Sergey Nikolaevich Litvinov was a Russian hammer thrower and athletics coach. He competed at the 1980 Summer Olympics and the 1988 Summer Olympics, missing the 1984 Summer Olympics due to the Soviet boycott, and won a silver and a gold medal, respectively. He also won two world titles, in 1983 and 1987. After retiring from competitions he coached elite hammer throwers including Ivan Tsikhan and his son Sergey.

Ivan Ryhoravich Tsikhan is a Belarusian hammer thrower. He is a two-time world champion and an Olympic medalist.


Kamila Skolimowska

Kamila Skolimowska was a Polish hammer thrower. She is best known for her gold medal in the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics, which made her the youngest Olympic hammer champion, as well as for her two medals from the European Championships. Her personal best throw, and former Polish record, was 76.83 metres, achieved in May 2007 in Doha. She died on the 18 February 2009 in Vila Real de Santo António, Portugal at the Polish national team training camp.


Jennifer Dahlgren

Jennifer Dahlgren Fitzner is an Argentine hammer thrower. Having spent much of her life in the United States, she competed as an amateur for the University of Georgia. She set the US collegiate hammer record and was the NCAA Outdoor champion in both 2006 and 2007. She is a three-time gold medallist at the South American Championships and won the bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games.


George Frenn

George Michael Frenn was an American hammer thrower, weight thrower and powerlifter. Frenn set world bests in the outdoor and indoor weight throws, won two medals in the Pan American Games and competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics.


Tatyana Lysenko

Tatyana Viktorovna Lysenko is a Russian hammer thrower. A two-time World Champion, her career has been blighted by repeated doping infractions.


Wojciech Nowicki

Wojciech Nowicki is a Polish hammer thrower. He won bronze medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2015 and 2017 World Championships. His personal best in the event is 80.47 metres set in Białystok in 2017.

Jüri Tamm

Jüri Tamm is a former Estonian hammer thrower. Representing USSR, he won a bronze medal in the 1980 and 1988 Summer Olympics and a silver medal at the 1987 World Championships in Athletics.


Anatoliy Bondarchuk

Anatoliy Pavlovych Bondarchuk is a retired Soviet hammer thrower, who is regarded as the most accomplished hammer throw coach of all time. He is also a noted as the author of the two-volume book Transfer of Training, which was translated from Russian to English by Michael Yessis.


Sophie Hitchon

Sophie Hitchon is a British hammer thrower. She is the British record-holder with a throw of 74.54 metres, set when winning the Olympic bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Games, Great Britain's first ever Olympic medal in the event. She also reached the hammer final at the 2012 London Olympics, and is the 2010 World Junior Champion, the 2013 European U23 Champion, and the 2014 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist.


Krisztián Pars

Krisztián Pars is a Hungarian hammer thrower. He competed at the Summer Olympics in 2004, 2008, and 2012, winning the gold medal in 2012. He also won the 2012 and 2014 European championships.


Shigenobu Murofushi

Shigenobu Murofushi is a retired hammer thrower from Japan. He competed at the 1972, 1976 and 1984 Olympics and finished in 8th, 11th and 14th place, respectively. He was the flag bearer for Japan at the 1984 Olympics.
