Pride parade

Pride parades are events celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) culture and pride. The events also at times serve as demonstrations for legal rights such as same-sex marriage. Most pride events occur annually, and many take place around June to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City, a pivotal moment in modern LGBT social movements. As of 2017, plans were advancing by the State of New York to host Stonewall 50 / WorldPride in 2019 as the largest international LGBT pride celebration, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.

Orange walk

Orange walks are a series of parades held annually by members of the Orange Order on a regular basis during the summer in Ulster, mostly in Scotland, occasionally in England, and throughout the Commonwealth. These typically build up to 12 July celebrations which mark Prince William of Orange's victory over King James II at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. Although the term "march" or "parade" is widely used in the media, the Order prefers terms such as "walk" or "demonstration". Orange walks have faced opposition from Catholics, Irish Nationalists, Scottish Nationalists and those on the political left who see the parades as sectarian and triumphalist.

Foot drill

Foot drill is a part of the training regimen of organized military and paramilitary elements worldwide. "Foot drill" or "Drill" stems from time since antiquity when soldiers would march into battle, be expected to gather in a formation, and react to words of command from their commanders once the battle commenced. Much of the drill done today is either ceremonial, or implemented as a core part of training in the Armed Forces. Military discipline is enhanced by drill, as it requires instant obedience to commands and synchronized completion of said commands with the others in the unit.
