A revival of "Blithe Spirit" opens on Broadway

Blithe Spirit is a comic play written by Noël Coward, about novelist Charles Condomine who ends up being haunted by the ghost of his 1st wife. Since its premiere in 1941, the play went through a number of different productions. The 2009 Broadway revival took place at the Shubert Theatre and was directed by Michael Blakemore.

"Starlight Express" opens on Broadway

Starlight Express is a rock musical by Andrew Webber and Richard Stilgoe, known for being performed on roller skates. The Broadway production of the musical opened at the Gershwin Theatre, running there for 761 performances. John Napier won a Tony Award for Best Costume Design and in addition 2 Drama Desk Awards.

My Fair Lady opens at Mark Hellinger Theater NYC for 2,715 performances

My Fair Lady is a musical based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. The story is about Eliza Doolittle who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins. The original Broadway production starred Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews.
