Usain Bolt wins 100m Olympic gold at Rio

Usain St Leo Bolt is a Jamaican retired sprinter. He also is a world record holder in the 100 metres, 200 metres and 4 × 100 metres relay. Bolt is the only sprinter to win Olympic 100 m and 200 m titles at three consecutive Olympics, in 2008, 2012 and 2016.


Barcelona re-sign midfielder Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal

Barcelona signed Fàbregas for an initial fee of €29 million with a further €5 million in variables, plus Fàbregas would pay Arsenal €1 million a year from his wage for five years, ending one of the most protracted transfer sagas in recent times.


The first-ever Youth Olympic Games are held in Singapore

The 2010 Summer Youth Olympics were the first edition of the Youth Olympic Games, an international multi-sport and cultural event for youths based on the tradition of the Olympic Games. The Games featured about 3,600 athletes aged 14–18 from 204 nations, who competed in 201 events in 26 sports.


Kevin Keegan makes his debut for Liverpool

Joseph Kevin Keegan is an English former football player and manager. A forward, he played for several clubs including Liverpool and Hamburger SV. He went on to manage Newcastle United, Fulham and Manchester City, winning promotion as champions in his first full season at all three clubs, and also the England national team.


The XIV Summer Olympic Games end in London

The 1948 Summer Olympics was an international multi-sport event which was held in London, UK. After a twelve-year hiatus caused by the outbreak of World War II; these were the first Summer Olympics held since the 1936 Games in Berlin. A record 59 nations were represented by 4,104 athletes, 3,714 men, and 390 women, in 19 sports disciplines.
