Disenchantment is an adult animated fantasy sitcom created by Matt Groening. Twenty episodes of the series have been ordered by Netflix. The series is Groening's first production for Netflix, previously created The Simpsons and Futurama for 20th Century Fox Television.

The premiere was seen by a total of over 17.2 million viewers in the United States which is almost 10 million more than its predecessor, making it the highest-rated Disney Channel Movie of all time as well as the highest-rated basic cable telecast at the time.

The final day of Woodstock Rock Festival is held

The Woodstock Music & Art Fair—informally, the Woodstock Festival or simply Woodstock—was a music festival in the United States in 1969 which attracted an audience of more than 400,000. Billed as "An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace & Music", it was held at Max Yasgur's 600-acre dairy farm near the hamlet of White Lake in the town of Bethel.

The first animated cartoon is released

Fantasmagorie is a 1908 French animated film by Émile Cohl. It is one of the earliest examples of traditional hand-drawn animation, and considered by film historians to be the first animated cartoon. The film, in all of its wild transformations, is a direct tribute to the by-then forgotten Incoherent movement.
