My Everything is the second studio album by American singer and actress Ariana Grande. Grande wanted My Everything to sound as "an evolution" from her debut album, Yours Truly; it explores more mature themes and genres. Upon its release, the album debuted atop the Billboard 200, selling 169,000 copies in its first week.

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition is released

The significant changes featured in the enhanced version are over 200 new animations, additional NPC models and recoloring of generic NPC models as well as monsters, vastly expanded and corrected dialogues in translated versions, improved stability, redesigned inventory system and load times reduced by roughly 80%.

Bob Dylan reaches #1 on Billboard's albums chart

Modern Times is the 32nd studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released by Columbia Records. At age 65, Dylan became the oldest living person at the time to have an album enter the Billboard charts at  No.  1. Modern Times became the singer-songwriter's first  No.  1 album in the U.S. since 1976's Desire.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is released

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is an action adventure beat-em-up fighting video game based on the Mortal Kombat series of fighting games. The game centers on two members of the Shaolin Order, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao, as they travel through the realms in an attempt to thwart Shang Tsung's plans to dominate Earthrealm.

DJ Otzi goes to #1 on the UK singles chart with "Hey Baby"

"Hey! Baby" is a song written by Margaret Cobb and Bruce Channel, and recorded by Channel in 1961, first released on LeCam Records, a local Fort Worth, Texas label. After it hit, it was released on Smash Records for national distribution. The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks.

"Frasier" debuts on NBC

Frasier is an American sitcom that was broadcast on NBC for 11 seasons. The series was created as a spin-off of Cheers, continuing the story of psychiatrist Frasier Crane as he returned to his hometown of Seattle and started building a new life as a radio advice show host while reconnecting with his father and brother.

American singer Nick Jonas is born

Nick Jonas is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. Jonas began acting in theater at the age of seven and released his debut single in 2002. After he released his eponymous debut album in 2004 to little success, Jonas opted to form a band with his older brothers, Joe and Kevin, known as the Jonas Brothers.

Singer Katie Melua is born

Ketevan "Katie" Melua is a Georgian-British singer and songwriter. She moved to the United Kingdom at the age of eight – first to Northern Ireland and then to London in 1999. Melua is signed to the small Dramatico record label, under the management of composer Mike Batt.

American actress Alexis Bledel is born

Kimberly Alexis Bledel is an American actress and model. She is best known for her role as Rory Gilmore on the television series Gilmore Girls, for which she received nominations for Satellite, Teen Choice and Young Artist Awards. In 2016, Bledel reprised her role on the Netflix reunion miniseries Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

T. Rex singer Marc Bolan dies

Bolan was riding in a Mini 1275GT driven by Gloria Jones as they headed home from Mortons drinking club and restaurant in Berkeley Square. After failing to negotiate a small humpback bridge near Gipsy Lane on Queens Ride, the car struck a fence post and then a tree. Bolan was killed instantly, while Jones suffered a broken arm and broken jaw.

Jimi Hendrix's debut LP enters the Billboard Hot 200 album chart

Are You Experienced is the debut studio album by English-American rock band the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The LP was an immediate critical and commercial success, and it is widely regarded as one of the greatest debuts in the history of rock music. It reached number five on the US Billboard Top LPs, remaining on the chart for 106 weeks.

Singer Richard Marx is born

Richard Noel Marx is an American adult contemporary and pop/rock singer, songwriter, musician and record producer who has sold over 30 million records. He had a stream of hit singles in the late 1980s and 1990s, including "Endless Summer Nights", "Right Here Waiting", "Now and Forever", "Hazard" and "At the Beginning" with Donna Lewis.

American magician David Copperfield is born

David Copperfield is an American magician, described by Forbes as the most commercially successful magician in history. Copperfield has so far sold 33 million tickets and grossed over $4 billion, more than any other solo entertainer in history.

Singer David Bellamy is born

Starting in the late 1970s, the Bellamy Brothers found success in country music as well, charting twenty Number One singles and more than fifty hits overall on the country charts. American musician B.B. King is born

B.B. King was an American blues singer, electric guitarist, songwriter, and record producer. King introduced a sophisticated style of soloing based on fluid string bending and shimmering vibrato that influenced many later electric blues guitarists.
