"Message in a Bottle" is a song by English rock band The Police. It was released as the lead single from their second studio album, Reggatta de Blanc. Written by the band's lead singer and bassist Sting, the song is ostensibly about a story of a castaway on an island, who sends out a message in a bottle to seek love.

Jackie Wilson has a heart attack while performing live on stage

Jackie Wilson was one of the featured acts in Dick Clark's Good Ol' Rock and Roll Revue, hosted by the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He was in the middle of singing "Lonely Teardrops" when he suffered a massive heart attack. When he collapsed on stage, audience members applauded as they initially thought it was part of the act.

Father of Rock Bill Haley with six UK Top 30 hits

Bill Haley was an American rock and roll musician credited by many with first popularizing this form of music in the early 1950s with his group Bill Haley & His Comets. In September of 1956, he had six hits in the UK top 30 Charts - “Rocking Through the Rye,” “The Saints Rock ‘n Roll,” “Rock Around the Clock,” “Razzle Dazzle,” and “See You Later Alligator.”

'The Barefoot Contessa' premieres at Capitol

The Barefoot Contessa is a 1954 American drama film written and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz about the life and loves of fictional Spanish sex symbol Maria Vargas. It stars Humphrey Bogart, Ava Gardner, and Edmond O'Brien. For his performance, O'Brien won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
