You Want It Darker is the fourteenth and final studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, released in 2016, by Columbia Records, 19 days before Cohen's death. The album was created towards the end of his life and focuses on death, God, and humor.

Battlefield 1 is a first-person shooter video game developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. Battlefield 1 is the fifteenth installment in the Battlefield series, and the first main entry in the series since Battlefield 4. Civilization VI is released

Sid Meier's Civilization VI is a turn-based strategy 4X video game developed by Firaxis Games, published by 2K Games, and distributed by Take-Two Interactive. A part of the Civilization series, it was released on Microsoft Windows and macOS in 2016, with later ports for Linux and iOS in 2017.

Far Cry 2 is an open world first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in 2008. It is the second installment of the main Far Cry series, preceded by 2004's Far Cry and followed by 2012's Far Cry 3.

United We Stand: What More Can I give was a benefit concert held in tribute to the victims of the September 11 attacks led by Michael Jackson. A half-day-long concert included musicians such as Mariah Carey, James Brown, Britney Spears, Pink, Backstreet Boys, Usher, Jennifer Lopez, and many others.

"Candle in the Wind 1997" is a song by Bernie Taupin and Elton John, a re-written and re-recorded version of their 1974 song "Candle in the Wind". It was released as a tribute single to the late Diana, Princess of Wales, with the global proceeds from the song going towards Diana's charities.

Williams Electronics releases Stargate

Stargate, also known as Defender II, is an arcade game released in 1981 by Williams Electronics. Created by Eugene Jarvis and Larry DeMar, it is a sequel to the 1980 game Defender and was the first of only three productions from Vid Kidz, an independent development house formed by Jarvis and DeMar.

As a teenager, she attended Marymount High School, a Roman Catholic all-girls school in Los Angeles. In 1994, her father represented football player O. J. Simpson during his murder trial. Simpson is Kim Kardashian's godfather.

"To Sir with Love" is the theme from James Clavell's 1967 film To Sir, with Love. The song was written by Don Black and Mark London, husband of Lulu's longtime manager Marion Massey. Mickie Most produced the record, with Mike Leander arranging and conducting. In her recording, Lulu makes notable use of melisma.

American musician Steve Lukather is born

Steven Lee Lukather is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, arranger and record producer, best known as a founding member of Toto. A prolific session musician, Lukather has recorded guitar tracks for more than 1,500 albums representing a broad array of artists and genres.

American actress Carrie Fisher is born

Carrie Frances Fisher was an American actress, writer, and humorist. Fisher was born in Burbank, California, to actors and singers Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. Fisher's paternal grandparents were Jewish Russian immigrants, while her mother, who was raised a Nazarene, was of Scots-Irish and English descent.

Manfred Mann is a British keyboard player, guitarist, and vocalist, born in South Africa, who became best known as a founding member and namesake of the bands Manfred Mann, Manfred Mann Chapter Three and Manfred Mann's Earth Band.
