Revival of "Waiting For Godot" at Mitzi E. Newhouse Theatre

With a limited run of 7 weeks and an all-star cast, it was financially successful, but the critical reception was not particularly favorable.

Adriana Lecouvreur is an opera in 4 acts by Francesco Cilea to an Italian libretto by Arturo Colautti, based on the 1849 play Adrienne Lecouvreur by Eugène Scribe and Ernest Legouvé. It was first performed at the Teatro Lirico in Milan.

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky dies

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer of the romantic period, some of whose works are among the most popular music in the classical repertoire. In 1893, Tchaikovsky conducted the premiere of his Sixth Symphony the Pathétique in Saint Petersburg. Nine days later, Tchaikovsky died there, aged 53.
