Ufton Nervet rail crashes

The Ufton Nervet rail crash was a collision between a train and car near Ufton Nervet, Berkshire, England. Seven people, including the drivers of the train and the car, were killed. The inquest concluded that the crash was caused by Brian Drysdale, a chef at Wokefield Park Hotel 4.8 km away, committing suicide by parking his car on the crossing.

Toccoa Falls Dam in Georgia gives way and 39 people die

After 5 days of rain, the dam burst and 176 million gallons of water streamed through the university campus below. Most of the college personnel, who lived at the campus, were asleep at the time, and 39 of them were swept to death. After this event, the dam was not reconstructed.
